We hope that you, your family, and your communities are holding up during these trying times. Each attack on our freedoms from the Trump Administration is more threatening and egregious than the last. But we take pride in fighting back—with principle, strategy, and collective power. In response to the rampant attacks on non-citizen students and others, Muslim Advocates is also spearheading a coalition of Black, African, Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and/or South Asian-serving organizations to mount legal defenses and offer rapid response, legal-advocacy support, including direct representation, advisals, and rights trainings. In just one month, recruitment for our volunteer attorney corps has grown more than five-fold, from 22 vetted attorneys to 115 attorney-applicants, and demand for this resource continues to grow. Since Inauguration Day, dedicated attorneys in this network have provided up to 20 individualized consultations each, with a surge of demand in the last two months.
The Muslim Advocates attorney team has itself:
* * Consulted roughly 50 individuals and their families
* Facilitated roughly 10 Know Your Rights events
* Provided time-sensitive emergency rapid response to nearly 20 individuals and counting, including returning travelers, students, professors, and a journalist


Because of your ongoing support, Muslim Advocates is continuing and expanding our frontline legal-advocacy to meet this moment of crisis. But we need more friends and allies in this struggle.
