Hi there, John — I’m Dan, the Organizing Director for the Maine Democratic Party. Last year, our Democratic majority in our State House was decided by just 60 votes across three districts. And, 8 races were decided by 64 votes or less! As you can see, our margins in Maine are razor thin.

One of the most effective strategies to keep control of our legislature is to start recruiting candidates for local races and doing grassroots organizing early. That’s why we’re launching the Down Ballot Victory program, and I couldn’t be more excited to tell you about it!

Our goal is to recruit candidates from the community, build volunteer excitement, and grow long-term Democratic power in every corner of our state — no matter how rural or red. And to do that, I’ll be bringing on a Field Organizer to build some boots-on-the-ground grassroots power!
