This past weekend, I attended protests in Bellport and Stony Brook. The experience was profound, overwhelming, thrilling, and at times, uncomfortable -- because this is the kind of work that makes you look deep within and challenge yourself to be better.

As a candidate running to represent NY-01, I know my job is to lead by example, elevate the voices of others, and advocate tirelessly to ensure that the people at every level of government demonstrate through their actions that Black Lives Matter.

I stepped up to run for Congress to improve the lives of families throughout Suffolk County and to pass policy informed by facts, science, and reality.

Zeldin continuously aligns himself with the far-right of his party by denying facts and reality, but NY-01 is becoming more Democratic -- and with my unique background and deep roots in the district, I am ready to beat him. National Republicans and corporate interest donors, however, will do anything they can to prop him up.

We know it’s going to take a powerful voter contact strategy to win, so we’ve set aggressive fundraising goals to sustain our efforts on TV, across digital platforms, and over the phone. But we’re still pushing hard to reach this week’s benchmark, with $7,800 left to raise before midnight.
