Four years ago today a terrorist and mass shooter killed 49 people and wounded 53 at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. Today we remember those we lost, we stand with our LGBTQ community in solidarity, and we united as Americans against hate, terrorism, and gun violence.
It’s been four years. We should have acted then, but we didn’t...
Then there was the Ft Lauderdale airport shooting. Then Parkland. Then another shooting at a Sebring bank. At a yoga studio in Tallahassee. And at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola. We haven’t addressed the problem and so the next shooting is simply a matter of time.
We need common sense gun safety laws [period]. We need to end the gun show loophole and expand red flag laws to keep us safe.
As we reflect on the horror of Pulse, let’s resolve to actually do something about ending the violence going forward. Let’s honor our fallen with action.
I’m sending a letter to Gov Ron DeSantis urging him to sign common-sense gun laws in Florida to honor the victims and survivors of the Pulse nightclub shooting. Will you join me?
