Dear John,



Your calls to the House Ways and Means Committee are making waves. Word is
the phones on the committee are being bombarded by hundreds of calls a minute
flooding in—and they know why. It’s the voice of thousands upon thousands of
gun owners, asking for the repressive boot of tyranny to be lifted from our
necks.



But the committee, which oversees taxes, still hasn’t committed to passing
the Hearing Protection Act and the SHORT Act. Now is not the time to let up. So
even if you have already called, keep applying the pressure in support of these
two important bills.



* H.R. 404—The Hearing Protection Act, introduced by Rep. Ben Cline, would
remove suppressors from the National Firearms Act of 1934 (“NFA”), stripping
away all regulation and eliminating the $200 tax stamp.
* H.R. 2395—The SHORT Act, introduced by Rep. Andrew Clyde, would prevent any
future attempt to reintroduce the Biden administration’s unconstitutional
pistol brace ban. The NFA was the actual law that the Biden Administration used
to justify the pistol brace ban.
Other committees are acting. The House Judiciary Committee held a hearing and
a markup on National Constitutional Carry Reciprocity. The House Veterans
Affairs Committee advanced a GOA-backed Second Amendment bill. Why has the Ways
and Means committee done absolutely nothing to advance either the HPA or SHORT
Acts?





If Republicans in Congress believe that now is NOT the right time to pull
suppressors and short-barreled rifles out of the NFA, then when is the RIGHT
time? Republicans control the House, Senate, and White House. That’s like the
planets aligning. We have a short window of time to get real improvements for
our 2A rights. So telling us it’s “not the right time” is saying they are NOT
committed to preserving and protecting the Second Amendment.



And of course, Nancy Pelosi never missed an opportunity to vote on a so-called
“assault weapons” ban when she was Speaker—even though it never made it through
the Senate. There is no excuse for not advancing pro-gun legislation right now
in the House of Representatives.





As Representative Eric Burlison said: “The worst part of the NFA is not the
tax. It is the database. The surveillance. The government file with your name,
fingerprints, and serial numbers. This is not liberty. It is tyranny in
disguise.”



So please call (202) 225-3625 TODAY. You can say something like this:



“Hello, my name is [NAME] and I’m a member of Gun Owners of America and a
voter. The Ways and Means Committee must pass H.R. 404 (the Hearing Protection
Act) and H.R. 2395 (the SHORT Act) immediately. No compromises, no settling for
reduced taxes. Remove suppressors and pistol braces from the NFA entirely so a
future Democrat administration doesn’t weapon their power against gun owners
like Biden did. Gun Owners of America will be watching your actions closely.”



Every call counts. Show the committee that gun owners won’t back down until
our rights are secured.

I need you to take action and pick up your phone to defend our God given
Second Amendment rights.



The Hearing Protection Act and the Stop Harassing Owners of Rifles Today
(SHORT) Act, are stalled in the House Ways and Means Committee and we need your
help to move these bills.

* R. 404—The Hearing Protection Act, introduced by Rep. Ben Cline, would
remove suppressors from the National Firearms Act of 1934 (“NFA”), stripping
away all regulation and eliminating the $200 tax stamp.
* R. 2395—The SHORT Act, introduced by Rep. Andrew Clyde, would prevent any
future attempt to reintroduce the Biden administration’s unconstitutional
pistol brace ban. The NFA was the actual law that the Biden Administration used
to justify the pistol brace ban.
You helped deliver a mandate to President Trump last November and now we need
the House Ways and Means Committee to help President Trump deliver on his
campaign promise to restore the Second Amendment.



Here is what we need you to do TODAY:



Pick up the phone and call the House Ways and Means Committee at (202) 225-3625
and direct your message to the majority.



Tell them to pass H.R. 404 and H.R. 2395 immediately out of committee to
deregulate suppressors and ensure that a future anti-gun administration does
not target pistol-braced firearms again using the archaic and unconstitutional
NFA.This isn’t just about an unconstitutional $200 tax that we want lowered,
it’s about repealing all the unconstitutional gun control like registration,
wait periods, fingerprints, and more that comes along with that tax.



And every day the House Ways and Means Committee does not move these bills;
gun owners face archaic restrictions and possible prosecution for exercising
their constitutional right to Keep and Bear Arms.



We must act now. This Congress has the opportunity to be one of, if not, the
most pro-gun Congress since the ratification of the Second Amendment itself!



When we flood their office with calls, they will act. Congress pays attention
when you take time out of your busy day to call them. A phone call to your
Member of Congress is the equivalent of 100 people sending them a letter! Even
if it’s after hours, leave a message.



So please, take 5 minutes out of your busy day to remind the House Ways and
Means Committee Majority at (202) 225-3625.



Urge them to move the Hearing Protection Act and the SHORT Act out of
committee, as that will ensure that the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is not
treated as a second-class right.We need the committee to do everything in its
power to make these bills into law and gut the National Firearms Act.



Let them know that Gun Owners of America will be closely monitoring any or
lack of action by the Committee to move these bills.
