During the 2025 legislative session, Stewardship Utah logged 821 hours at the Capitol. That time had a real impact: defending smart policy, training dozens of new advocates, and preventing the rollback of hard-won water protections.
That time is made possible by the incredible generosity of our monthly donors. Because of their support, we were able to: - Organize a mass Great Salt Lake Rally at the Capitol
- Run regular citizen Lobby Days to uplift community voices - Monitor every bill related to water and the lake, responding in real time to harmful proposals
And we’re not done. The fight for the lake stretches far beyond the legislative session. We're preparing for summer meetings with local officials, community trainings in vulnerable areas, and coalition-building events to grow our reach. Our work must remain nimble and constant. From removing over 1,600 pounds of trash from the shoreline on Earth Day to training new GSL advocates in communities throughout the state, we’re ensuring the movement to protect the lake grows stronger.
