You’d think it’d be a bit weird for a convicted felon to have a fetish for prisons. But then again, we’re talking about Donald Trump here. 

And renting El Salvador’s CECOT torture prison just isn’t doing it for him:

In a move that can only be described as complete insanity, Donald Trump wants to spend an estimated $2 billion dollars to reopen & renovate the famous 91 year old prison that hasn’t been operational in over 6 decades. Why? Because every good dictator needs a notorious prison to throw his opponents in.

In the first 100 days of his presidency, he has tested the waters by deporting countless immigrants with legal status to El Salvador without due process. He also continues to defy the Supreme Court’s order to have wrongfully deported Maryland father, Kilmer Abrego Garcia, returned.

Donald Trump uses prisons in his open warfare with our constitution - the constitution he swore an oath to uphold. But now, he is saying he doesn’t know whether he even needs to follow the constitution:

Trump doesn’t deserve to have another prison to throw innocent people in - he deserves to be in prison.

We must fight back against the brazen authoritarianism coming from his administration and we are on the ground doing the work that our leaders in DC are too afraid to do.
