The House and Senate recently agreed on budget instructions, but now comes the hard part - negotiating funding levels and hammering out the bills to fund the federal government. Congress has the chance to defund gender transition procedures, but they need to hear from you!

Use this link to send a message to your congressional delegation telling them that you object to your tax dollars being spent to pay for gender transition procedures!

Congress needs to seize this opportunity to defund gender transition procedures, among other things. Experimental hormonal and surgical interventions for individuals experiencing distress related to their sex can cause significant harm, including sterilization and life-long regret. These interventions do not qualify as genuine medical care. Furthermore, a new report recently released by the Department of Health and Human Services found what many experts have been warning for years: There is no high-quality evidence of long-term mental health benefits from such interventions.

Dr. Jennifer Bauwens, an expert in the mental health field, joined Jody Hice on Washington Watch recently to discuss this report from HHS as well as the federal government's return to common sense on this issue under the Trump administration.

Our tax dollars should not be used to inflict actual, life-long harm on individuals experiencing distress related to their sex. As Congress looks to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, it's high time that we end taxpayer funding of gender transition procedures.
