Team — Trump’s budget puts billionaires first and veterans last.
If his budget plan moves forward, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs workforce will be slashed by 80,000 workers, making it harder for veterans to receive their hard-earned benefits.
This administration’s budget cuts and federal layoffs are already affecting military veterans in Milwaukee.
Recently, I spoke with a group of local veterans, past and present VA employees, and advocates who shared what these cuts mean for veterans.
I listened as they described how difficult it’s become to access essential health appointments, with some having to schedule appointments weeks in advance to receive care.
It’s unfathomable that the brave men and women who serve our country are being cast aside by Trump and unelected billionaire Elon Musk in the name of “efficiency” and tax cuts for the wealthiest among us.
We’ve made promises to people who donned the uniform and went into harm’s way on behalf of all our freedoms.
We need to keep those promises.
I’m fighting every day to deliver on the promises we’ve made to veterans. I’m listening to our vets and will continue to push back against the Trump administration’s proposed cuts to the VA. If you can support this fight with a grassroots donation today, I’d be grateful to have you in my corner.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you for standing with me in the fight to deliver for our veterans.
