My name is Diane, and I’ve been a teacher here in Wisconsin for 6 years. I’ve seen firsthand just how much damage the WisGOP has done to our schools.
Over the past few years, they’ve used our schools and educators as props in their political games—targeting LGBTQ+ students, banning books, and making teachers choose between giving our students the education they deserve and staying out of the political crossfire. And now, the new Trump Administration is dismantling the Department of Education, causing unfathomable damage to our public education system.
As a teacher, I am frustrated because my colleagues and I are out there making sure that kids that attend public schools are succeeding in their classes. We work hard every day for the kids of Wisconsin.
But while the GOP targets teachers and students, WisDems stands with teachers who are working to ensure that our schools remain a safe place to foster our highest values in the next generation.
