Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional District, and our country as a whole:
Medicaid Reform (not cut!)
Last week, I sent a letter with many of my colleagues calling for clear reforms to Medicaid in the reconciliation process. You can read the letter here.
Real Medicaid reform must be included in reconciliation to take a step towards:
1) Healthcare freedom and away from a crony capitalist healthcare system that hurts taxpayers and patients while enriching special interest.
2) Getting our fiscal house in order on mandatory healthcare spending.
If we are to Make America Healthy Again, we must have healthcare freedom. Reforming Medicaid during reconciliation is the first step.

The First 100 Days Complete
Last week marked the 100th day of the Trump administration. The Administration has been busy working to gut wasteful spending, reduce the size of the federal bureaucracy, end racist DEI programs at the Pentagon, and importantly secure our nation’s borders.
While the Biden administration disregarded the American people’s legitimate concerns about the southern border allowing millions of illegal aliens to flood our country - including criminals and terrorists - President Trump took immediate action. In far less than his first 100 days - President Trump reduced border crossings and apprehensions to record lows - while removing tens of thousands of illegal aliens to their home countries. America is safer by the day - and for that alone we should be grateful for his leadership. Now, it will be up to congress to codify these efforts and ensure our laws permanently prevent open-border Executive policies.
President Trump’s Budget Proposal
Last week, the White House released a transformational budget that maintains strong funding for our national defense while reducing the woke, weaponized, and wasteful bureaucracy by 20% even farther back than pre-COVID levels. Combined with our joint efforts to rescind additional wasteful spending and deliver a reconciliation bill that will extend and expand the Trump tax cuts while reforming Medicaid and other programs to reduce deficits, we are poised to deliver prosperity, freedom, and strength to the American people.
I strongly commend President Trump, OMB Director Russ Vought, and the entire White House team for releasing a truly transformational budget. This budget re-aligns federal spending to the priorities of the people: a secure nation, making America healthy again, an unweaponized Justice Department focused on combating crime, and more.
You can see the President’s budget here or below.
Repeal the Green New Scam
If Republicans want to unleash American energy dominance and support the President's energy agenda, we have no choice but to fully repeal the “Green New Scam”. The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is one of the biggest scams in this country's history as it has increased energy costs, subsidized inferior and unreliable energy, and empowered the United States' largest adversary—China. Furthermore, this bill has made the power grid unreliable, putting Americans' livelihoods at risk.
Last week, I was proud to join a letter urging for a full repeal of Joe Biden's Green New Scam. You can read the Fox News exclusive on this letter here.
Southern Border Status Update
Thus far, 2025 has been a tremendous year for the rehabilitation and enforcement of the strong southern border we – as a country and as a global leader – absolutely need. In April 2025, encounters at the southern border were reported to total 12,030. While there is still work to do, compare this to the April 2024 under President Biden when we saw 179,000.
If current figures become the monthly average for border encounters, the first 8 months of President Trump’s administration would see approximately 92,000 encounters. For context, there were 96 thousand encounters in December of 2024 alone.
Successful border policies = A safer and sovereign America.
Election Integrity in the Federalist
On May 1st, an article was published in the Federalist entitled “Noncitizen Voting And Voter Fraud Schemes: DOJ Investigates Voting Crimes Across Multiple States And Elections”. The article reports on and discusses The Department of Justice’s charging of several foreign nationals, including individuals from Iraq, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Ukraine, with illegal voting or attempting to fraudulently register to vote in U.S. elections.
The article includes reporting on Sanjar Jamilov, a national of Uzbekistan who pleaded guilty to conspiring to submit fraudulent voter registrations in Florida. He and others submitted over 100 fake applications with false names and suspicious personal data. Additionally, Dmitry Shushlebin, a Russian national, allegedly hired Jamilov and others to carry out the scheme; he has since been charged with his case currently pending.
These cases are but another example highlighting the need to ensure only citizens are registered to vote in our federal elections, and why we must my bill, H.R. 22, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to the President’s desk. We’ve done good work by getting this passed by the House, now we need the Senate to do their part for America.
DOGE Cuts
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been working diligently, and successfully, to uncover the waste and fraud that has infested our federal government. Several months ago, I advised Elon Musk that finding waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer’s dollars would not be the biggest challenge he’d face. I told him that the biggest challenge for him and DOGE would be dealing with many of my Republican colleagues, and especially my colleagues on the other side of the aisle. I warned him about those Republicans that run on a platform of cutting federal spending but continually vote for and accept more spending with open arms.
Take for example Representative Eli Crane of Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District. Rep. Crane proposed an amendment that would cut USAID spending in half. Crane proposed this with the understanding that we shared, that some of USAID initiatives were beneficial, even if many of them were abhorrent misuses of taxpayer dollars. The result? Only about half of Republicans voted for it.
I am confident that DOGE will continue finding waste, fraud, and abuse in our government. What we need is for Congress to act on it.
