India said early Wednesday that it had conducted strikes on what it called “terrorist infrastructure” in Pakistan, two weeks after an attack by armed militants killed more than two dozen civilians in Indian-administered Kashmir, as the NYT reports

I’m going to let you in on a secret—some of the best music surrounding the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival takes place during the “Daze Between,” which refers to the weekdays between the two weekends of Jazz Fest (the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May.) For Deadheads, this also has significance because every August we celebrate the “Daze Between” Jerry Garcia’s birthday (August 1) and the day he passed away (August 9). But we’ll talk about the Dead and Jazz Fest later this week.

One of the most interesting performances this year featured Dave Matthews with Ivan Neville, Eric Krasno, Nikki Bluhm, and others live at Tipitina’s covering Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer.” You don’t see things like this
