John,
Every day, teachers across the country mentor kids, guide their development and help them reach their full potential. Unfortunately, too often, many children arrive at school with hunger that makes it hard for them to excel.
Just like textbooks or other school supplies, access to nutrition is key to a child’s academic success. And with 92% of teachers concerned with how hunger is impacting their students right now, most are going above and beyond to help ensure their students can get the food they need.
With everything teachers are doing to make sure their students are fed and thriving, No Kid Hungry is committed to not only supporting them but also celebrating them. That’s why we’re putting together a special thank-you card for Teacher Appreciation Day, and we’re hoping you’ll sign the card and share your gratitude.

In a new No Kid Hungry survey, 57% of teachers said they are spending hundreds of dollars of their own money to buy food for kids who show up to school hungry. These teachers are nothing short of heroes for their devotion to their students, but it shouldn’t have to fall on them.
School meals programs are crucial to ensuring ALL kids have access to nutritious meals — improving everything from their test scores to their classroom behavior to their future success. That’s why No Kid Hungry works so hard to reach more schools and communities with crucial meals programs, supporting teachers in their efforts to ensure their students are getting enough food to eat.
Ahead of Teacher Appreciation Day, we want to show our teachers the respect and gratitude they deserve. That’s why we’ve set a goal to collect 5,000 signatures on our Teacher Appreciation Day card, and we’re counting on you to add your name now:
Will you please sign our card now to thank teachers for everything they do to provide students with a good education AND the nutritious food they need to thrive?

Thank you for showing your appreciation for the incredible teachers who help make our work for kids possible.
