John, as we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to share a little about why Run for Something is going all in on our new 50 State School Board Strategy — and why it’s critical for the future of schools across the country.

But first, I need to level with you: Our schools and the kids that depend on them are counting on a new wave of progressive leadership that is committed to protecting public education. We need to raise $50,000 ASAP if we’re going to make that happen across the country — will you rush $5 today?

For the last few years, the far right has been investing millions of dollars to take over school boards — using them as a tool to ban books, censor history, fire teachers, and attack LGBTQIA+ students. And it’s happening everywhere, from deep red communities to even historically progressive areas.

That’s why we launched our 50 State School Board Strategy — an ambitious plan to recruit, train, and support the next generation of diverse, values-driven school board candidates nationwide — and why we need your help to fuel it.

We’re working to build on our existing infrastructure to reach races that have gone uncontested for far too long — and giving progressive champions the resources they need to fight back and win.
