President Trump just released his budget proposal for next year. It’s worse than we even expected.

Once again, the President and extreme conservatives are going after vital lifelines, gutting Medicaid and SNAP by more than $1 trillion. Instead of lowering costs, this budget will drive them up and take healthcare and food assistance away from those who need it most.

We won’t stand for it. Today, I joined my fellow House Democrats in signing a discharge petition – a mechanism that would force an up-or-down vote on funding for Medicaid and SNAP. All members of Congress should have to go on record: are they for hardworking families, or not?

We need just four House Republicans to join us and preserve these basic needs. Will you support the fight to protect Medicaid and SNAP?
