Email from Judy Chu April was another eventful month in Congress. Dear John, April was another eventful month in Congress. Currently, Congress is going back and forth on the budget bill—which proposes massive cuts to Medicaid. So last month, I stood side by side with my colleagues and constituents and demanded that the Congressional GOP take their hands off of our benefits. I hosted townhalls and days of action to defend Medicaid and Social Security, because no one deserves to lose their benefits to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. I also led two letters to the Department of Health and Human Services condemning their cuts to Title X funding and their dismantling of emergency funding for struggling families. People across the country depend on Title X funding to access reproductive healthcare no matter where they live or how much money they have. In California, families need the emergency funding program to feed their families and pay for childcare and healthcare. I won’t stand by while the Trump Administration guts these programs. In Congress, I led legislation that passed unanimously to provide tax filing relief and mortgage relief for victims of natural disasters. After seeing my district destroyed by the Eaton Fire, I know how difficult it is to rebuild your lives—and these victims deserve a break from these filing deadlines. I spoke at a rally on Capitol Hill to demand the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia from an El Salvadoran mega-prison. With the Trump Administration outright ignoring the Constitution and the need for due process, I am fighting to ensure everyone in this country is treated equally. Then in my district, I attended four rallies across CA-28 to protest the Trump Administration’s harmful agenda. It was amazing to see so many of my constituents stand up and fight for their rights. As a proud supporter of small businesses, I toured businesses like the Nila LED lighting company to learn about the impacts of Trump’s devastating tariffs right here in the San Gabriel Valley. I know that small businesses are the backbone of this economy, and I won’t let the president get away with their destruction. We are a little over 100 days into President Trump’s second term, and although his administration has unleashed chaos in our country, I am still going to work every day in Washington and California to demand better for my district and people across this country. Join me in fighting back. Thank you, Judy Judy Chu | AMB Consulting 1531 Purdue Ave. | Los Angeles, CA 90025 US Unsubscribe | Update Profile | Constant Contact Data Notice
