Trump’s executive order to end federal funding to the broadcasters. It’s
another illegal, unilateral WH action. We must keep up our push to stop
Congress from stripping $1 billion from public media. Sign the petition:

Hi,

After Trump signed an executive order to end all federal funding to PBS
and public radio, the head of PBS said, “we have never seen a circumstance
like this.”^1 PBS and public radio face an existential crisis at the hands
of the Trump administration.

A focus of Trump’s second term is destroying public, reliable media to
allow right-wing, Trump-friendly disinformation peddlers to take over. In
just the last few months, PBS and other outlets have been forced to defend
themselves against a sham FCC investigation, a phony DOGE committee
hearing where Marjorie Taylor Greene slung invective at public journalism,
and propaganda smear campaigns led by Elon Musk.

Congress can still stop Trump’s proposal to strip funding from public
media if we keep the pressure on lawmakers to protect these popular
broadcasters.

Congress to oppose $1 billion in cuts to public media!

The White House doesn’t have the legal authority to end funding for public
media, but Trump is still doing everything he can to destroy it.

Taking a billion-dollar buzzsaw to PBS and public radio is a central part
of Trump’s plan to eliminate reliable media sources and empower right-wing
disinformation to dominate TV, radio, and the internet.

The CEO of PBS called Trump’s executive order “blatantly unlawful” and
said it would threaten the broadcaster’s ability to serve the public.^2
Congress must hear us loud and clear: we won’t stand for Trump’s illegal
action, and we won’t let our lawmakers gut PBS and public radio.
