People are scared and they have every reason to be. In Philadelphia, nearly 20% of our population relies on Social Security benefits — that’s over 300,000 people, including seniors, people with disabilities, and children who depend on survivor benefits.

These critical payments help cover rent, groceries, medications, and basic needs. Proposals to cut or weaken Social Security threaten the livelihood of our families, friends, and neighbors. Donald Trump's cuts to these benefits would be devastating for our city, where nearly 1 in 4 residents live below the poverty line and where Social Security often means the difference between stability and hardship.

I’ve fought my entire career to protect Social Security, and I won’t stop now — but I need you with me every step of the way.
