Celebrating Juneteenth

Juneteenth (June 19) marks the day in 1865 when U.S. federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to take control of the state and ensure all African Americans were freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed. The date is now a federal holiday. Now Accepting UNITE Elective Applications

The UNITE team is seeking elective ideas and elective leaders for its two weeks of UNITE Students this summer. Electives are an integral part of the UNITE Students experience! For 45-minute sessions, students are invited to engage in interactive, engaging, transforming ways. This is an opportunity for students to build relationships with new friends, learn new skills, create new things and build lasting memories. This opportunity is unpaid, but it’s a great way to get involved in the awesome work our UNITE programming team is doing. Learn more →
