Hi John, [link removed] [[link removed]]
I’m reaching out with an urgent request: We've been told by inside sources that Republicans on the Joint Finance Committee plan to slash many of Governor Evers' key priorities from the budget. That means -- as early as this week -- they could be putting at risk lifesaving investments, such as funding for the Wisconsin Office of Violence Prevention and the Office of School Safety.
We need your help to protect these investments. Urge the Finance Committee to ensure these two violence prevention programs are fully funded. [[link removed]]
A State Office of Violence Prevention will make communities safer by supporting local programs that connect underserved communities to key resources. The Office of School Safety keeps students safe by offering services like mental health support and a tip line, where students can share safety concerns.
Send my note to the Finance Committee! [[link removed]]
These kinds of programs are already being defunded at the federal level, making it even more critical that we fund them at the state level. We must keep Wisconsinites safe—and the best way to do that is to stop violence before it happens. Stand up now for the safety of our families, neighborhoods, and schools. Tell the Finance Committee to keep violence prevention priorities in the budget. [[link removed]]
