I recently had the pleasure of connecting with dedicated Democrats in Lenoir County, North Carolina, engaging in meaningful discussions about the challenges we face and the solutions we can pursue together. Rural outreach is crucial, and town halls like this are where change begins.

At the town hall, we addressed critical topics impacting North Carolinians every day. We spoke on the threats posed by billionaires who are undermining essential services like Medicare and education, making it harder for our families to thrive. We also tackled the issue of political insiders like Thom Tillis, who consistently put personal gain and political agendas ahead of the well-being of our communities.

His lack of leadership is in line with Washington Republicans which results in policies that cater to the ultra-wealthy and special interests, often at the expense of hardworking North Carolinians. Under Tillis's watch, working families face rising costs, fewer fundamental rights, and reduced access to essential services.

And I’m seriously concerned about the national debt. But let’s be clear — Republicans are the ones driving it up with massive tax cuts for billionaires. It’s hypocrisy, plain and simple and working families are the ones left footing the bill.

At the town hall, your voices made it clear: it's time for leadership that prioritizes people over profit and listens to those who truly need representation. Together, we can bring about the change that North Carolinians deserve, focusing on real solutions that uplift our communities.
