I understand that thinking about the future right now is scary. Access to affordable health care is in flux, everyday life is getting even more unaffordable, and the President of the United States has even turned a blind eye to the rule of law itself.

Listen, the actions of Donald Trump and National Republicans are truly hitting people where it hurts. But despite these immense challenges, I am still hopeful for the future. Because I won’t give up this fight — and I know you won’t either.

Over the last four months, I’ve witnessed the grit, determination, and tenacity of supporters like you firsthand. I’ve seen folks in Kansas and across the country, including many who were previously tuned out of politics, protest in their communities, organize their neighborhoods, and get involved. That patriotism is truly inspiring.

It inspires me to fight for a future where every Kansan has the opportunity to not just get by, but to get ahead. A future where people’s basic needs are met. A future where everyone’s fundamental freedoms are protected. And a future where our government works for all of us, not just the rich and powerful.

That’s the future I’m proud to fight for every day in Congress, and I won’t let anyone get in my way.
