Save AmeriCorps and Protect Outdoor Access for Young People
AmeriCorps is a critical program that connects our country's youth to the outdoors by creating jobs in conservation, disaster relief, and the outdoors. However, the Trump administration has slashed AmeriCorps' budget along with other federal funding cuts, putting 85 percent of its staff on leave and threatening the well-being of young people and their communities.
Millions of organizations, including the Sierra Club's Outdoors Alliance for Kids, rely on AmeriCorps for getting young people outdoors and creating a new generation of environmental stewards. It is also an essential program for equipping young people with the skills, training, and jobs to sustain our country's public lands and outdoors economy. Help reinstate AmeriCorps funding and demand that this critical workforce be rehired. |
