Dickinson County Man Pleads to Sexually Assaulting Two Minors

*LANSING *– Yesterday, Trentin McWilliams, 23, of Norway, MI, and most recently residing in California, pled to multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. McWilliams pled no contest to Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for sexually assaulting a child at a relative’s residence in 2018. He also pled guilty to two counts of Third-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for assaulting a 14-year-old girl in a vehicle in October 2022.  

McWilliams was extradited to Dickinson County in September 2024 [ [link removed] ] by the U.S. Marshals Service as part of Operation Survivor Justice. [ [link removed] ] Extraditions through Operation Survivor Justice were funded last year by a $1 million state appropriation. The Operation is a partnership between the Michigan Department of Attorney General, local county prosecutors, and the U.S. Marshals Service to locate, apprehend, and return to Michigan fugitive offenders with outstanding sexual assault warrants. 

“This Operation Survivor Justice conviction is a powerful example of what this partnership can accomplish,” Nessel said. “Through our work with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Dickinson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, we were able to deliver accountability and a measure of justice to the two courageous individuals who came forward.” 

McWilliams is scheduled to be sentenced on July 7th at 9:30 am in the 41st Circuit Court in Dickinson County.
