Hi, it’s Ghazala Hashmi, the Democrat running for Virginia Lieutenant Governor.

On Friday, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin VETOED the Right to Contraception Act AGAIN — my bill that would’ve guaranteed the right to access contraception, including birth control pills, IUDs, and emergency contraceptives like Plan B. 

For the second year in a row, Gov. Youngkin has chosen politics over the personal freedom of Virginians. 

By rejecting this legislation again, Gov. Youngkin and Lt. Gov Sears (who cast a tie-breaking vote against the bill in the Senate) have aligned themselves with extremists rather than standing up for our fundamental rights. 

It’s shameful.

But I’m not giving up. I’m running for Lt. Governor — and I won’t stop fighting for reproductive rights for all. But I need your help. So please donate $20 or more to help make sure every Virginian knows what is at stake in this race:
