Hi John,
This is Mari Vangen-Strom, Action Network’s Product Director, with our latest product update. As with all our new features, these were primarily chosen, brainstormed, and paid for by our Development Partners at MoveOn, the AFL-CIO, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC), and the Canadian Labour Congress — read more about our cooperative development process here. Check out our release notes to follow along with what’s new on Action Network.
Without further ado, here are the new features in this Action Network product release:
Verified Reply-Tos
To prevent spam or abuse, Action Network now requires verification of your reply-to email address before you can use it. This is the address recipients will reply to after getting your email. It can be a Gmail, Yahoo, or a custom domain address — but it must be verified before use.
Emails created before May 5th — including ladders, scheduled emails, and autoresponders — will continue to work as expected.
New emails created after May 5th will require a verified reply-to address.
If you’re unable to verify a custom domain, your emails will send from [email protected] by default.
In addition to including and excluding activists in an active ladder, you can now include and exclude activists who’ve clicked, opened, and received specific ladder emails. This update is also available in ladder decision steps!
New admin permission: Group Access
We split the former settings permission up to allow for more granularity. The settings permission now gives administrators access to the group settings tab. The new group access permission gives administrators the ability to edit the group as well as manage other administrators.
Events updates (more to come!)
Event campaigns can now set a map visibility default for events in the event campaign (on or off) and can optionally lock the event RSVP form so event hosts cannot change what data is collected.
Events and ticketed events now have an option to toggle the map on and off when editing.
Small but mighty updates:
You can now target relative dates in the field values filter (thanks MoveOn!).
Questions using action only fields are now flagged to make them more discoverable.
We've made a small UX update to the targeting page to make the engagement filters easier to parse through.
We made an update to petition delivery options to clarify CSV and PDF options.
Administrators without the activists permission can now no longer see personally identifiable information on action manage pages and similar.
Macedonian (mk) and Estonian (et) are now available as front-facing languages for actions.
Email campaigns will now work at a larger scale.
