Today on World Asthma Day, you can help fight for clean air free of harmful pollution.
John, did you know half of people in the U.S. breathe unhealthy levels of pollution daily?
Power plants and other large pollution sources jumped at the Trump administration’s invitation to apply for a license to pollute at will. All they had to do was send an email. These no-questions-asked passes will lead to an increase in the number of people suffering from asthma and other respiratory problems.
Today on World Asthma Day, or any day, we shouldn’t have to worry about our loved ones breathing dirtier air and kids suffering a lifetime of illness due to harmful pollution.
Will you fight for cleaner air to breathe by starting a monthly gift to EDF? You can donate here:

And if you’re one of the first 100 new monthly donors, you can choose to receive a free copy of Acorn Days: The Environmental Defense Fund and How it Grew. Written by EDF’s first secretary, Marion Lane Rogers, it tells the inside story of our fight to ban the toxic pesticide DDT.

Your monthly support will go to work defending critical environmental protections AND advancing state-level policies that reduce harmful air pollution.
For example, because of the support of our members and activists, EDF, Moms Clean Air Force and other partners celebrated a victory in Colorado, the country’s fourth-largest oil-producing state. It now requires oil and gas companies to replace equipment that forces methane pollution and other toxic gases into the air.
As federal climate and health protections are under attack, this progress highlights the opportunity to combat air pollution and protect our communities’ health by working at the state level.
John, in honor of World Asthma Day, please start a monthly gift to make twice the difference for our loved ones, neighbors and kids to breathe cleaner air:
