Civics teachers in grades 6-12 are eligible to be nominated by fellow teachers, administrators, students, parents, or community members. All nominated teachers will be asked to submit a short essay to BRI as part of the competition.
Ten finalists for the National Civics Teacher of the Year Award will be announced in August, at the start of the 2025-2026 school year — and the National Civics Teacher of the Year will be named on Constitution Day on Sept. 17, 2025. The National Teacher of the Year will win a $5,000 prize and all remaining finalists will receive $1,000. |
