Details of walking and cycling improvements announced

The council has always been committed to the promotion of walking and cycling, with great facilities already in place and even more in the pipeline, but we have also been working on plans to make it even easier for people to get around the city by foot or bike in response to the current Coronavirus crisis.

The Government has recently announced an allocation of £2.5m of new funding for Nottingham to introduce temporary measures to encourage walking and cycling as Covid 19 restrictions are eased.

broadmarsh road changes

Broadmarsh roadworks programme resumes with changes around NCP Car Park

To prepare for bigger changes to the road space in the area, works have begun to change the layout around the NCP Arndale Car Park.

This will result in a closure of Castle Boulevard at its junction with Greyfriar Gate and onward to Collin Street. To support the future road layout, a new entrance has been created to the NCP Arndale Car Park off Greyfriar Gate, opposite Ocean night club, accessible via Canal Street.
