Dear Comrades,
We are in a time of change and awakening. It is up to us as socialists to help lift up the voices in our communities calling for change and we must continue to use our activism for a more just and equitable world for all. We demand change.
Akron DSA is co-sponsoring a march and vigil tonight at 7p. We will meet at Joy Park in East Akron (825 James Ingram Way) and hear from Councilwoman Tara Samples. We plan on marching from Joy Park to Arlington Plaza where we will read The Freedom BLOC's 5 demands. We will then march back to Joy Park for a candlelight vigil and hear from the community.
PLEASE WEAR A MASK AND PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. OUR COVID-19 GUIDELINES CAN BE FOUND HERE. WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE AND AFTER THE PROTEST. PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO STOP COMMUNITY SPREAD.
Akron DSA is also hosting a working meeting on Monday, June 15th. We will be hearing from a local member of the New Afrikan Black Panther Party as well as using this time to develop a strategy for continued activism and how we can be an aid to the movement. Register here for our meeting on Monday, June 15th at 6:30p.
A quick reminder: Our General Meeting is June 30th. You can register here.
When we fight, we win.
In Solidarity,
