Friend, in Ukraine, the wounds of war aren't always visible.

Every day, Project HOPE's mental health team walks alongside people carrying trauma you can't see - children separated from their families, parents who've lost homes, veterans returning from the frontlines.

And at the center of that work are psychologists like Iryna, Olha and Marta - professionals whose quiet bravery is helping entire communities begin to breathe again.

For Iryna, the importance of psychologists during war is critical. Their work goes beyond listening. It's about giving people who've lost everything the tools they need to rebuild.

==============================

Being a psychologist in wartime is how I fight. Not with weapons - but by helping people return to themselves.
- Iryna Besedina, Psychologist, Sumy, Ukraine

In Kherson, a city near the front lines, Olha Havrykova offers mental health care in one of the most shell-shocked regions of Ukraine.

==============================

I was born and raised here. I lived through the occupation. Now, I stay to do what I do best - stand beside people in their hardest moments and remind them they still have the strength to carry on.
- Olha Havrykova, MHPSS Coordinator, Ukraine

And while the international community has come together to make an impact, Marta recognizes one crucial component that's still missing: a long-lasting approach to combat trauma, stress, and displacement.

==============================

Yes, we urgently need more investment in mental health across Ukraine and in refugee communities. The war has created enormous psychological pressure, and the support systems aren't keeping up.
- Marta Stoian, MHPSS Specialist, Ukraine

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we're celebrating our staff who are leading with empathy and hope. This work is emotionally heavy but essential, and it needs more support.

That's why we're hoping you'll make a gift today to stand with our team as they care for people carrying invisible wounds. Will you donate to support access to mental health care and to help us continue our mission around the world wherever the need is greatest?
