Our messages, calls, and rallies on this issue are making a difference! Last week, thanks to Food & Water Watch members and many other activists, the House excluded school meals from the list of budget cuts — at least for now.

This is an encouraging win for people power, but the budget process is far from over. That’s why we’re continuing to oppose the budget bill and fight any new attempts to cut the school lunch program, food assistance, and other essential programs.

House committees are continuing to negotiate specifics, and the details of these massive cuts will be compiled into a budget bill that will go back to the floor for another vote. We still have a chance to stop this extreme agenda from becoming law! ([link removed])
