Hi folks,
I believe every American is entitled to four fundamental freedoms, and that belief has guided my work as both your Senator and the Superintendent of Denver Public Schools.
The freedom to rise, the freedom to learn, the freedom from violence, and the freedom to govern ourselves.
We can achieve the freedom to rise by making sure all Colorado families can get ahead, fighting childhood poverty, and building an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.
We can achieve the freedom to learn by building a modern education system that serves all of our kids, pays our teachers well, and is committed to giving every child the same chance at a great education—no matter the zip code they are born into.
We can achieve freedom from violence by passing common-sense gun safety laws, fighting the opioid epidemic, and ending the extremism that continues to flourish on social media.
We can achieve the freedom to govern ourselves by reforming our electoral system so voters, not dark money, have the most power, and keeping the government out of our bedrooms and doctors' offices.
These four freedoms are why I’m running for Governor. I know it’s at home in Colorado, that we can secure these fundamental freedoms and provide the rest of the country with the hopeful, optimistic vision it so desperately needs.
Achieving these freedoms in our current political climate may seem next to impossible, but no matter how far off it may feel, they will always be worth fighting for.
Friend, I can’t do this without you. If you’re ready to fight for these freedoms with me, please consider joining my campaign today. >>
