We can't fight for reproductive rights without confronting racial
injustice

We do our work to foster a better, safer, less-crowded living planet
where all can have decent lives. We've long known that the
consequences of rapid population growth tend to fall most heavily on
those who have the fewest resources, and that people of color face
especially daunting challenges. Systemic racism is deeply entrenched
in American society, including in our health care system. We can't
fight for reproductive rights without upholding racial justice.

Join a call with Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka

Dr. Gladys is a wildlife veterinarian and the founder
and CEO of Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH), which promotes
coexistence of people, gorillas and other wildlife. CTPH addresses
human and wildlife health together, using the One Health approach.
Improving people's health allows communities to thrive while
protecting the gorillas from zoonotic diseases.

Join us for a Zoom presentation on Thursday, June 18th, to hear her
discuss how CTPH is confronting the COVID-19 pandemic through its
innovative public health approach to gorilla conservation.

PopEd unveils curriculum for 330 million of us

A census year is a great opportunity to take stock of national
population trends, as well as indicators of national progress over the
sweep of U.S. history. The PopEd team has created a new set of lessons
for this decennial census year. The lessons not only examine trends
for our nation's population growth and settlement patterns, but
they also explore so many other aspects of American life, from family
size and education to health, immigration, gender roles, political
representation and environmental policies.

Urgent update on new CGA rates

If you have considered initiating a Charitable Gift Annuity with
Population Connection, now might be the right time. Based on current
circumstances, the American Council on Gift Annuities will lower
payout rates starting July 1, 2020:

"In general, the suggested maximum payout rates will be lowered by 0.3
to 0.5 percentage points, based on the annuitant(s) age(s) (e.g.,
payout reduction of $30 to $50 on a $10,000 donation). The new ACGA
suggested maximum charitable gift annuity rates will become effective
on July 1, 2020."
(from [link removed] )

If you'd like to take advantage of the current higher rate,
please get in touch with us at [email protected] immediately to
begin setting up your CGA. We can honor current, more favorable
annuity rates through the end of June. Remember, once you set up your
CGA, your annuity rate and payments are guaranteed for life and will
never change.
