Last week, the US House voted to roll back clean car standards that protect the air we breathe, combat climate change, and save drivers money. For years, over a dozen states have followed California’s lead in enacting stronger auto emissions standards than federally required. Now these protections are under attack. These rules have pushed automakers to develop increasingly fuel-efficient cars and trucks that save drivers money at the pump. They’ve also been instrumental in bringing more and more electric vehicles to the market, helping drivers cut both climate pollution and fuel costs. By rolling back this progress, Congress is putting the profits of oil companies over the wellbeing of American families. Dirtier cars mean more air pollution, more money at the pump, and more greenhouse gas emissions fueling rising temperatures. We can’t afford to lower our standards. With crucial votes coming up soon in the Senate, your senators need to hear from you, climate champion. Thanks for all that you do, -Your friends at Climate Reality
