DSA NATIONAL CONVENTION: Chapter Delegate Nominations Are Now Open!
|
The DSA National Convention, the highest decision making body in DSA, is upon us starting August 8th. SacDSA will send 7 delegates and 1 alternate to represent our chapter as we set the course of DSA for the next two years. Delegates will be tasked to vote on bylaw amendments, national campaign resolutions, and elect DSA's national leadership board, the National Political Committee (or NPC).
Members interested in serving as delegate are encouraged to self-nominate by May 11th! After nominations close, the chapter will vote to elect their delegates and send them to Chicago. We will conduct the elections online using Opavote, and all members in good standing will get a ballot. Ballots will open on May 12th and close May 19th. The vote tally will be released within 48 hours after ballots close.
Click the link below to put yourself in the running for delegate. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to your steering committee at any time.

Survey: What Kind of Merch Should SacDSA Print?
|
Members of SacDSA and our Steering Committee are exploring the idea of opening a member run merch store that sells only union made and member designed SacDSA gear. While we explore this idea, we need to get a sense of what kind of merchandise our members are interested in seeing the SacDSA logo on.
Please fill out the attached survey and share your thoughts on what we should sell in the SacDSA store.

- Fight The Oligarchy, Capitalism Is The Problem!
- On April 15th, 2025, Bernie and AOC took to Folsom as one of their California stops on their Fight Oligarchy Tour and spoke to 30,000 pissed-off Californians! The event organizers graciously invited SacDSA to table and spread our message, and this chapter showed up with gusto. Over an 8+ hour day, members showed up, set up our booth (and our neighboring organizations' booths), and had countless conversations with the community about DSA, Democratic Socialism, and the importance of solidarity. By the end of the rally, chapter members received over 175 RSVPs to SacDSA events, general inquiries, and recruits. A special thanks to all the comrades who showed up for SacDSA, it was a proud day for your chapter and a needed beacon of light in these dark times.
- April was a busy month for SacDSA!
- In addition to the highly successful day of community building at the Bernie/AOC Rally, this chapter has been working non-stop to get face time with the community and to fight for our cause. We tabled at the 50-50-1 Rally held on the capitol lawn in early April, only a week after we marched to celebrate Cesar Chavez Day, and we took to the capitol with other members of the Reclaim Our Power Coalition on April 24th to demand California lawmakers do the right thing and finally abolish the monstrosity that is PG&E. On top of all of this, we still managed to successfully host all of our planned Palestine Solidarity Night Schools. Way to go SacDSA! There is no rest for the wicked, but the righteous don't need any! <3
- May Day Paint Day
- On May 4th, SacDSA joined Norcal Resist and other organizations in the community to help paint this year's May Day mural on the Capitol Mall. We thank our comrades who designed our letter and showed up to paint. The words have never ringed truer than today, "WE KEEP US SAFE!"
