Hello
everyone!
My name is Jon Wishnie, and I’m excited to introduce myself as
the new Climate Justice Partnerships Organizer at 350 Mass!
A bit of background on myself: A lifelong Massachusetts dweller, I
grew up in Newton before attending college in the Pioneer Valley. I
studied government at Smith College, while spending much of my time
learning community organizing and radical education at UMass Amherst
with the UMass Alliance for Community Transformation (UACT).
After graduating, I moved back to Boston and have been involved in
organizing across many different issues and campaigns, most
recently doing climate justice work with the incredible youth of the
Boston Student Advisory Council/Youth on Board. I also
recently completed the JOIN for Justice Jewish Organizing Fellowship,
where I continued to build both my skills as an organizer and my
connections to communities in the area.
These experiences have led me to understand that it is
impossible to fight climate change without fighting injustice and
systemic oppression in all its forms. For me, that means
following the leadership of communities on the frontlines of the
climate crisis.
I’m so excited to dive into this work with all of you--starting with
Charlie’s Climate Catastrophe
tour in late September. Feel free to reach out before then to say
hello!
In solidarity,
Jon Wishnie

Charlie's Climate Catastrophe Tour
The week after the Global Climate Strike, we are taking our Gov.
Charlie Baker puppet on tour, to all the gas leaks, compressor
stations, and train stations that he's never visited.
Host a stop on the tour! - We all know that Charlie
Baker is a climate failure. We need your help to expose him. Host an
event in your community - a movie screening about the Merrimack Valley
Gas Explosions, a rally near the biggest gas leak in town, or
something else. Create your event here and we'll help you do outreach.
Contact [email protected] with any questions!
Charlie's Trip to Weymouth - We are kicking off
Charlie's Climate Catastrophe Tour with a march to a place where
Baker's never been. Join us as we take our Charlie
Baker puppet from the State House to the proposed site of the
dangerous compressor station in Weymouth! RSVP here. Interested in planning, sign up here. Sun, Sep 22.

Vineyard Wind’s 84-turbine wind farm, which would delay the permit for
Vineyard Wind to begin construction of the 800 Megawatt offshore wind
generation farm. That means that Vineyard Wind would miss the deadline
to qualify for the generous 24 percent tax credit threatening the
project's financing. Call or email Stephen Boutwell, 703-787-1531, [email protected]
