Email from Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation Honoring All Women   Dear John, Mother’s Day is a bittersweet holiday for many. Some of us are fortunate to still have our moms here while others grieve such a heavy loss. We are so touched that a donor, Larry W., wrote in with his story: “I think fondly of her comforting bedtime stories, the traditions that painted our childhoods, the sound of my mother’s laughter that could instantly brighten a room, the unspoken love woven into her secret recipes. We carry within us the echoes of her sacrifices, the countless threads that make up the irreplaceable tapestry of "Mom." Perhaps it was her funny snort as she retold one of my many embarassing moments, the open door and extra plate for any neighbor, the selfless act of putting others before herself, even that stern glance that kept us in line. She was our world. I’m so happy I get to share her picture and legacy on the “Wall of Admiration.” It means a lot to me and my siblings.” - Larry DONATE IN HONOR OF YOUR MOTHER Women make up two-thirds of Alzheimer’s cases, and women serve as the vast majority of all caregivers. For the women who are touched by this disease, watching and supporting our mothers go through this can feel like saying goodbye twice. Mothers serve as the family anchor: the ones who love, fix, care, support, and guide us through our lives. As you think about all the mothers you know – whether it’s your mom, you yourself, your spouse, your daughter, your neighbor, or any other loved ones – we hope those special memories and moments make your soul smile. ADD HER PHOTO TO THE WALL OF ADMIRATION This Mother’s Day, we want to celebrate all mothers on our Wall of Admiration: their boundless love, their unwavering support, the countless ways they shape our lives. As those cherished memories bring a bittersweet smile to your face, consider how Alzheimer's steals these very gifts: the memories, the connections, the essence of a person. At ARPF, we are driven by the hope of a future where these precious bonds remain unbroken. On this Mother's Day, will you join us in this vital work? Your donation will fuel the research, education, and outreach that bring hope to families and help us work towards a world where minds and memories are protected. Give the gift of hope this Mother's Day. Give in honor of all Mothers.
