We loved hosting our Get Local! Leadership Training on April 26th!
This amazing group of women leaders from across the state learned how to fundraise for their campaigns, use their personal stories to craft compelling narratives, work together to govern effectively, and more.
A lunchtime panel featuring Raleigh Mayor Janet Cowell , former Wake County School Board Member Christine Kushner , and Johnston County School Board Member April Lee shared their stories and unique insights into running for and serving in local government.
Our next training is our Engaging Women of Color Training from June 21st-22nd. Applications will launch later this week, so stay tuned!
May Highlights ๐
* May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! We're thankful for NC's AAPI community and for NC Representatives Maria Cervania and Ya Liu , who became the first AAPI women elected the NC General Assembly in 2023.
* May 8th is the NCGA's Crossover Deadline--the point when all bills must pass at least one chamber to stay alive for the session.
* On May 14th , our PAC Committee will visit our progressive women legislators at the NCGA to show our support for their hard work during this long legislative session.
