Hi John,

Last week, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets in solidarity with workers and immigrants to push back against corporate-backed authoritarianism. From New York City to Chicago to Atlanta to Los Angeles, folks rallied and marched with their families and friends. They carried banners, flags, and handmade signs, chanted and sang together, some workers went on strike, and together showcased the power of our communities when we come together.

Our network joined actions across the country and put pressure on the corporations and billionaire CEOs backing the Trump regime's policies. Here are a few highlights from last week (and some of our staff’s favorite moments!):

May Day is about more than history — it's about our future. Our network, friends, and allies came together in cities all across the country to build a movement that values people over profits. And it doesn’t end here!

We’re fighting for a world where our families and communities are safe and cared for, where we have good jobs and stable homes, and where we all have a say in the decisions that impact our lives. To do that, we need to build a broad and diverse movement. We have to keep challenging the big corporations and billionaire CEOs that have gotten rich off of our communities, and who are aligning with Trump’s authoritarian regime.

Last week showed me that this is not only possible, but it’s already happening and growing. These moments remind me of the whole reason we’re in this fight: for each other, for the joy of being and building our beloved community, and for the future we want for one another.

In solidarity,

Sylvia Ruiz

Network Strength Director
