Hi friend,
In the past few months, the federal government has laid off tens of thousands of federal workers without explanation or cause, destabilizing their livelihoods and the communities they serve. These workers need legal support to advocate for their rights.
I’m happy to share that these individuals can get help finding representation through a new legal resource that exists to help – Federal Workers Legal Defense Network. The organization relies on lawyers to help federal workers understand their rights and seek justice.

Rise Up is powered by We The Action and the AFL-CIO, with support from the American Federation of Government Employees, the National Federation of Federal Employees, Democracy Forward, the Partnership for Public Service, and others. The Legal Defense Network will provide short screening conversations and one-hour pro bono consultations, and it will provide a library of resources available to help federal workers navigate their cases. If lawyers don’t have a background in federal labor or employment law, they can receive free training through the Legal Defense Network.
Federal workers seeking legal advice can get started here. Lawyers who want to volunteer their time can sign up here. Please share this information with anyone you know who may be interested – because all of us need to support one another in these challenging times. Thank you!
My best,
