Hi John,

We've hit the front page!

Yesterday, our latest Right to Rescue case was featured on the front page of the Sunday edition of The San Francisco Chronicle! This paper reaches hundreds of thousands of people across the Bay Area. So this is a huge step in raising the visibility of our movement and building support for open rescue.

The article tells the story of DxE investigator Zoe Rosenberg, who is bravely facing a felony trial for rescuing four suffering chickens from a cruel, Perdue-owned slaughterhouse. Her story is opening people's eyes and hearts to the truth that all animals deserve to be protected from harm. You can read the article online here. The Chronicle also produced a short accompanying video that you can watch here

A lot goes into a front page story like this: training for factory farm investigators, legal resources, caring for rescued animals, protest campaigns, crafting pitches to the media, and more. None of this would be possible without the generous support of people like you. Please consider donating to our supporting non-profit today.

I am also happy to report that this weekend was our largest mobilization asking Trader Joe's to cut ties with Perdue's Petaluma Poultry. DxE activists protested at 28 Trader Joe's stores across 12 different states! Many shoppers were shocked to learn about the cruel conditions behind the store's "humane" marketing. Thank you to everyone who participated in this weekend of action. Our message is spreading, and the pressure is mounting.

If you haven't yet (or if you want to again!), please take a couple of minutes to contact Trader Joe's and ask them to drop Perdue's Petaluma Poultry! More detailed instructions, including sample messages, can be found here.

In solidarity,
Cassie
