Elon Musk needs to face the facts. DOGE has been a complete failure.
They set out to slash $2 trillion from the federal budget through unconstitutional cuts. They have fallen laughably short of that goal, and spending is up under Trump.
They promised to make our government more efficient. Instead they caused chaos and confusion that hindered all efficiency.
The only real result is that tens of thousands of federal workers are out of a job, agencies across the board that protect Americans are worse off, and regular folks are left without the services and programs they depend on.
DOGE failed because Elon Musk and Donald Trump don’t see government as a way to help people, but a roadblock to them and their billionaire buddies amassing more wealth and power.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the EPA, the Department of Education — all of these now-gutted institutions exist to stop Wall Street, corporations, and billionaires from ripping off the American people and making an extra buck in any way they can.
So yes, DOGE has been a failure. But we can bet that the Trump administration is going to keep trying to rip us off.
They’re already pushing for huge Medicaid cuts so they can pay for tax breaks for the ultra-rich. That would devastate millions of working class families.
We must keep up the fight against Trump, Musk, DOGE, and the entire far-right party that they lead. That is our responsibility right now as a grassroots movement committed to protecting democracy and lifting up the working class.
