Hey John,
In the past few weeks we have seen an unprecedented number of protests and plenty of activism on the ground and online— all in an effort to demand and support action for Black lives.
The last few months have been incredibly taxing, physically and mentally—especially for Black Americans in our country. But, some progress has been made through all of the action you’ve taken in your communities:
The three people involved in the lynching of Ahmaud Arbery were arrested and charged. And on are set to go to trial. [[link removed]]
All four former officers involved in George Floyd’s murder have been arrested and charged. [[link removed]]
There is still a huge need for action for Breonna Taylor. [[link removed]] While the charges against her boyfriend have been dropped, the police who shot Breonna have still not been arrested or charged.
We may be making some progress on these individual cases, but this fight is bigger than the arrests of cops and so-called vigilantes involved in these three murders. Black Americans have been battling with systemic racism for centuries.
Now is the time to get educated, demand our leaders take action, and demand our communities do the same.
