Dear John,

Thank you to all who attended our New York United Virtual Gala! We were thrilled to have so many of you join us, and to see the outpouring of support was truly inspiring.

To those of you who could not attend, you can watch the whole program in the video above.

Our New York United Campaign is still going strong, as we work to support our member organizations, our advocacy, and emergency cash relief to thousands of New Yorkers who have lost their work due to COVID and who have been left out of every stimulus package. We are giving out $2.7 million to over 5,000 New Yorkers. Our advocacy is laser-focused on action and real change now - dismantling systems of oppression and the fight for justice for communities in New York and across the country.

We were thrilled to honor our Member of the Year, the New York State Nurses Association. NYSNA President, Judy Gonzalez-Sheridan, who stands with immigrant communities and us, noted, “We could never deny care to people based on any of these status questions, and the New York Immigration Coalition feels very strongly about that too.”

As our host, comedian Kerry Coddett said, “We can not continue to do things the way we have been doing it. The systems are not working, and it is time for us to reevaluate all the things we thought were serving us and serving our communities.”

If you are able, please consider supporting our New York United campaign.

Thank you all for your generosity and time, especially our Host Committee and Sponsors, as we work to ensure that immigrants across New York State remain safe and healthy.

In Community,

Steve Choi
