This week, Democratic National Convention is hosting their summer meeting in San Francisco. On Wednesday evening, August 21st, a progressive caucus will convene for a strategy meeting to pressure the Democratic National Committee to agree to a presidential climate debate. On Friday evening, August 23rd, one of America’s most well-known movement building politicians, Bernie Sanders, will be visiting San Francisco for a town hall on college affordability and student debt. We have deeply important outreach events next week as well and need your help building profound coalitions and connections within our communities. Next week on Wednesday, August 28th, we’ll be packing the room with black, brown and indigenous students and parents for the San Francisco Democratic Party’s endorsement of “Paint it Down”. Then next Saturday, August 31st, we’ll be coming together after a full month of daily protests outside the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) building, to recognize the culmination of our 30 days of momentum to close the camps.
