This past week has been deeply troubling for Israel, not only due to the devastating wildfires but because of emerging reports indicating that many of these fires were deliberately set as acts of terrorism.

Terrorist organizations, including Hamas, have reportedly called (picture below) for more arson attacks to coincide with Israel's Independence Day. These are not the actions of those seeking peace. They are calculated efforts to inflict harm, incite fear, and destabilize the country by destroying lives, homes, and natural resources.

Using fire as a weapon is both cowardly and catastrophic. It threatens civilians, endangers first responders, and causes long-term damage to communities and ecosystems. This tactic is a stark reminder that the goal of these groups is not coexistence, but the eradication of the Israeli state.

We must recognize these attacks for what they are: terrorism. The international community must condemn such violence clearly and unequivocally. Security is essential—but so is moral clarity.
