Rep. Miller-Meeks: 100 Days of Republican Leadership Under President Trump

This past week, we marked the 100th day since President Trump returned to office, and during that time, Republicans in the House, Senate, and the White House have worked tirelessly to restore America's strength and security. We’ve been focused on delivering results for the American people—fighting for their safety, jobs, and freedom.

One of our earliest successes was the passage of the SAVE Act, a bill I proudly cosponsored, which ensures only U.S. citizens can vote in federal elections by requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration. This is a vital step in restoring integrity to our elections.

We also passed the Protection of Women & Girls Sports Act, commonsense legislation that prevents biological males from competing in women’s sports, ensuring a level playing field, fairness based in science and the protection of female athletes. I was proud to attend the White House ceremony where President Trump signed an Executive Order to protect women’s sports.

Under President Trump’s leadership, we’ve reversed the disastrous policies of the Biden administration, taking major steps to unleash America’s energy potential. This is crucial for our national security and economic prosperity, ensuring that we are no longer reliant on foreign energy sources and can help fuel our allies.

A key victory for Iowa came when the House passed my Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act. This bill will attract high-paying jobs back to our rural communities by expanding American manufacturing and protecting our supply chains. This is a major step in reducing our dependence on China and restoring America’s manufacturing prowess.

Perhaps the most significant achievement of all has been the restoration of sovereignty and order at our southern border. After four years of chaos under the Biden administration’s open-border policies, illegal border crossings have dropped by 95% under President Trump’s leadership. Immigration laws are being enforced, and we are on track to complete the border fence with the requisite technology.

Looking ahead, it’s time to pass one big, beautiful bill to extend the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which has benefited families and small businesses in Iowa. We must ensure our economy continues to thrive and that Iowans are not burdened with higher taxes. Let’s continue the momentum and secure a prosperous future for Iowa and America.

Telephone Town Hall

This past week, I had the privilege of hosting a Telephone Town Hall to address the issues that matter most to everyday Iowans. A heartfelt thank you to the more than 6,300 people who joined the call and shared your questions! If you weren’t able to ask me a question during the town hall, please feel free to reach out to my office. As your representative in Congress, I am committed to listening to your concerns and fighting for you every step of the way!

Bringing Jobs Back to the U.S.

The House has passed my Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act! I’m proud to be working with President Donald J. Trump to bring manufacturing back to America, end our reliance on China, and create good-paying jobs in Iowa.

Rolling back radical California-style Electric Vehicle Mandates

EV mandates might work in Malibu, but they don't work in Maquoteka. That’s why I supported the passage of H.J.Res. 87, 88, and 89 to overturn these reckless rules and protect your right to choose what you drive.

Representing Iowa's First District

Honored to attend the University of Iowa Army ROTC’s annual Military Ball. As a proud Army veteran, it was inspiring to be with the next generation of military leaders and celebrate their commitment to service, discipline, and country.

Great meeting with National Community Pharmacists from Iowa, especially John Nicholson from Oskaloosa! We discussed the need for PBM reform to lower prices and prevent pharmacy closures. Proud to be leading the bipartisan DRUG Act to increase PBM transparency, lower prices, and protect the independent pharmacies that serve our communities.

Constituents from Williamsburg and Iowa rural broadband network providers were in DC advocating for our joint mission to expand rural telecom and broadband access.

Had a great meeting with the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives to discuss the importance of permitting reform to keep energy available, affordable, reliable and responsive to the needs of rural Iowans.

Great to see Iowans and others with Susan G. Komen in DC advocating for breast cancer research in DC.

Great meeting with my constituents from TPI Composites, Nordex, and Nextra Energy in DC. We discussed good-paying manufacturing jobs that support President Trump’s America First agenda!

Committee Hearings

I spoke in support of increased access to non-opioid treatments at an Energy and Commerce Markup.

Floor Speeches

Proud to have honored the life of Henry Langrehr — a true American hero from Clinton, Iowa on the House Floor. Henry’s courage on D-Day and his love for our country will never be forgotten. May God bless his memory and his family.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks
