[link removed] [[link removed]] Hey John,

Here’s a little update on what I’m up to in Congress: I just introduced a bill to reinstate the assault weapon ban of 1994.

Banning assault weapons is a common sense solution to an all-too familiar problem – a solution that will actively reduce the number of deaths and injuries from gun violence. If you’re with me and you support this bill to protect American lives, I need you to add your name right now → [[link removed]]

ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]] Republicans love to whine about this bill, but the fact of the matter is that it was on the books until it expired in 2004, originally passed with bipartisan support, AND was endorsed by former presidents Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan.

Thousands of people every single year are forced to bury their loved ones, friends, and children as a result of gun violence – and I wouldn’t wish that pain and grief on anyone. This bill is a way to curb that violence, and it’s our duty to protect American lives.

If you’re with me, and you’re ready to reinstate the assault weapons ban of 1994, I need you to add your name right now and prove that we have a movement of grassroots support behind this legislation → [[link removed]]

Thank you,
Lucy
