A few days ago Donald Trump proclaimed that he was “bringing Columbus Day back from the ashes.”
I have a message for Donald Trump: Columbus was lost, and so are you.
As Trump and his billionaire buddies make the economy worse for working families, slash federal programs and services that New Mexicans rely on, and further rig the system in their own favor, he’s hoping people will be distracted by his taunts and trolling.
Trump may be lost, but I know exactly where I am, who I come from, and what we need to do to make the system work better for everyday families across New Mexico.
But I’m running a grassroots campaign, and I’m counting on your support to keep it up. With the economy so uncertain, I know not everyone has spare money to donate, and that’s okay! We can still get this done if each of us does what we can.
→ For high earners: If you’re in a position to give more, your contribution could go a long way toward funding this campaign and keeping the governor’s office blue. Please consider pitching in $1,000, $500, $250, $100, or as much as you can.
→ For medium earners: Any amount you can pitch in is truly appreciated, and when your grassroots donation is combined with thousands of others, everything adds up to make a powerful difference. Pitch in $25, $10, or whatever you’re able.
→ If you can’t donate: Like I said, that’s ok! You are an important member of our movement, and you can still make a big difference in this race by spreading the word on social media and letting your friends and family know about our campaign.
Whatever you can do, I can’t thank you enough for your support.
Together we’ll keep fighting to protect New Mexico from this administration’s harmful policies, and we’ll continue celebrating Indigenous heritage at the same time — no matter what Trump has to say about it.
In solidarity,
Deb Haaland
